Clay is one of the oldest materials for the creation of decorative and functional objects. Through the study of art history and the natural world, my work is influenced by the past and present. I create ceramic objects for us to engage with, that enhance the experience of our daily rituals.

 

Physical and visual interaction are considered throughout my creative process. Through the action of throwing and hand-building, my work is intrinsically connected to the human form. Soft curves hug our hands and invite us to connect with the work. The subtle marks and carving might be overlooked from afar but create an intimate experience in noticing the detail. These influences and ideas intertwine to create my body of work.
